| Our Centre has prepared several learning aids that might interest you: A poster of the phonetic symbols used in English dictionaries, illustrated with words from health care. The poster is similar to the chart that is in Yvonne Ford’s book, “Nursing English essentials” on page 162. The poster is printed on photo-quality paper and measures 40 X 60 cm in size. It costs €8,00; postage costs are €5,40 (the poster will be sent in a sturdy cardboard roll.) A memory game based on 25 parts of the body. The game has three sets of cards – German, English and the phonetic symbols for the English words. The game can be played by a group of 3 – 5 students. There is a booklet that accompainies the game, showing the right combination of cards and giving instructions for three different ways of playing the game. The cards are the same size and shape as “normal” Memory cards. The game costs €25,00; postage is €2,20. Some teachers have also asked if we can provide copies of the nursing English lessons Yvonne Ford wrote for Heilberufe. There are 84 lessons in total.
