Medical English Weekend Course

This course is especially offered for students who are planning a clerkship in an English-speaking country or for doctors interested in working in England

This weekend course focuses on vocabulary needed for taking the patient history in an emergency situation as well as for conducting a comprehensive patient history. The language that patients use to describe their body functions and symptoms will be presented as well as questions that can be used in interviewing in doctor's practice or in the hospital. Participants will also learn how to describe investigations, explain diagnoses to patients, and discuss treatment alternatives. Cultural factors affecting patient communication will also be discussed.

Good basic knowledge is necessary (even if your English knowledge has become a little rusty!). This course is not appropriate for beginners.
